Development & Discussion / Re: Checking In
« on: December 18, 2016, 07:33:28 PM »
Oh, we'll be here, don't you worry!

It is great to hear you're making progress, but letting you concentrate on making the game without posting updates is something we'll gladly accept.

I can't speak for everyone, but I believe they'd all agree: using us for feedback on your ideas and designs, or for our own ideas and suggestions, is quite alright with us.

Posting an "I'm still working on UoN" message every once in a while is great news in itself. :)

Finally managed to hang the poster!

Even though the poster was supposed to be landscape, I choose to hang it like this, since there is no "up" and "down" in space, and one can still easily read the name of the game. :D

I think it is important to show the Tactical Ops and Engineering roles in action, with some cinematic in-game combat footage, for the Kickstarter video.

While the battle is happening, have someone read parts from the Technicians - Short fiction & Feature Post, or a similar story.

the other UoN pages

What other UoN pages? Which reminds me, should we start a Steam group?

Anyway, Mark.

Of course we shall all be a part of the Kickstarter campaign. Unless one of is loaded enough to say something along the lines of "Oh, just €150,000? Give me your account number, I'll send it right over". That would be both hillarious and amazing, at the same time. Bill Gates, I'm looking at you.

I've shared the UoN Facebook page, and I hope to see at least a small influx of likes on there. The Twitch idea is a good one, but be careful because it can backfire. It's not just about showing what you're doing, it's about you being an interesting speaker and entertainer as well, I believe.

If there's anything you'd like us to do, don't hesitate to ask. Or send a PM, if you're shy. We are here. :)

The new color scheme gives me a cold, techie feel. I like it.

Laslon was talking about the "radar" on the Tactical screen. Maybe having a colour (same or different) beneath the Power Wheel could be a good idea? I don't really know.

But, as was said for the Tactical screen and it's new colour scheme, the green-red health pallete was intuitive. We'll see if this one is as well. We could also claim that if it's not red, it's good, or something along those lines.

My life has been hectic lately, as well, so I still haven't gotten a real chance to check out the updates from August 16th onwards. But know that I will, and that we the fans will not forget UoN easily. :)

Development & Discussion / Re: Role-playing Questions
« on: August 21, 2016, 11:58:14 AM »
Story-wise, there would be 150 individuals on a ship. But players would cover at most 5 of those (with additional 5 as observers, but not part of the crew), and would interact with additional 3 to 18 NPCs. The rest cca 130 individuals would only exist in the role playing terms, and the game wouldn't feature them, afaik.

Welcome, Stewart! Always glad to see more people join in on the fun.

Huh, Factions are not something we have discussed until now. I'm very interested to see how exactly did you imagine them. Ever since I first read about the game,  I've wondered if the Artemis TSN group would switch here seamlessly or if we would have to reorganize.

Sorry, I'm unable to provide coherent feedback atm, since I'm getting ready for my 3 week vacation.

I can say that simply having turret groups, without any other data and options to work with, is kinda boring. But you say you'll add more, so I'll see what's going on with that once you do. I figured one would control the Operatives via that panel, as well.

No problem. Glad to be of help. :)

That's better. The gradient green version reminded me of a submarine too much, but this one looks modern, so it's good.

My gf said that the new green version is pretier, but the black one is easier to look at.

If you want the radar to stand out and be obvious, than this might be good compromise. Another way you can go about it would be to add a pulse of somekind: either a line like in the submarines or a faint concentric circle emanating from the ship in the center of the radar.
